Kinesio Taping
Book an AppointmentKinesio Taping is a therapeutic taping method that utilizes a specially-designed elastic tape to enhance the function of many different tissues and physiological systems. It is designed to be worn for periods of 3-5 days, and is therefore perfectly suited to those patients where continued therapeutic benefit between clinical visits is desired. It can be used in acute or chronic conditions and also to prevent re-injury.
The Kinesio Taping method was founded by Dr. Kenzo Kase D.C., who recognized that his manual treatments, while effective, were sometimes temporary. He designed the Kinesio Taping method as a means to offer patients and effective treatment that would last between office visits. After several years of development, it was introduced to Japan’s rehab hospitals, and later gained international exposure at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It is currently used by some of the biggest athletes in the world, including Serena Williams, Rory McIlroy, Novak Djokovic, Kevin Garnett, David Beckham, and many more.
